Details:

Hit the trails and get to grips with the More Mile Cheviot 4 Trail Running Shoes.

With its new and improved sleeker and lower profile design, the Cheviot 4 comes with a thinner, tighter weave mesh in the upper, which gives the shoes an improved durability meaning they’ll hold up on the roughest fells and trails. This tighter weave mesh also provides a water resistant upper whilst maintaining its breathability. This is coupled with the new sewn in tongue further improving the water repellence of the Cheviot 4. Momentarily submerged in puddles and pools, the shoes won’t immediately fill with water! The durable and high quality fabrics used in the upper allow the Cheviot 4 to be flexible and handle the multi-terrains and conditions that the hills and fell routes throw at you, while allowing your feet to breathe at the same time.

The More-tech rubber outsole with a multi-directional tread pattern is made from a softer compound than the previous models of the Cheviot. This is to provide greater traction of hard surfaces such as rocky fell routes and dry or baked trails whilst also improving the impact protection of the shoe. Flex ribs in the mid/outsole give improved forefoot flexibility allowing the foot to contour and mould over rocks and roots on the trail and permit more precision in foot placement. The full length Phylon EVA midsole provides a longer lasting, softer feel to the shoes over those with a standard EVA midsole. This results in an ultra-comfortable, plush ride with amazing impact protection on longer runs and rocky descents.

The Cheviot 4 is ideally suited to orienteers and obstacle racers too. The More™ technology that has been included throughout the Cheviot 4’s provides a comfortable, lightweight and aggressively agile ride, allowing you to move nimbly and quickly over any terrain or obstacles between checkpoints and features!

 Features:

  • Weight – 320g
  • Heel drop 6-8mm
  • Lightweight flex mesh
  • Cemented construction
  • Moisture wicking breathable lining
  • Protective toe guards
  • Inner lining and tongue for added cushioning and protection
  • More technology blown rubber outsole for maximum grip
  • Lightweight Phylon Eva with more flex rib construction

Please note: we would recommend buying half a size bigger than your normal shoe size.

I bought 8th size, take a little more if you have 27 centimeters of foot. And so, that's very good product for the this money, quality materials, a good sole protector.

Have a good run. (Posted on 04/10/2019)

I buy these shoe's for my kids for their trail and obstacle runs, these are a good alternative for the other more expensive brands.
Especially when their feet are still growing and they need more than one pair a in a season.
And yes you have to order a half size bigger. (Posted on 13/09/2019)

Tough shoes at a great price Review by mark

I'm really pleased with these shoes. They have held up really well in my last 3 fell races in the Lakes and Peak District, plus supporting Leg 3 of a Bob Graham attempt. The grip is pretty good on all surfaces, and the studs show little signs of wear after the Scafell rocks. They are a good replacement for my worn out Mudclaws, and at at fraction of the price - great value too. (Posted on 22/06/2019)

Incredible performance for price. Unable to comment on durability yet Review by Michael

I've only managed 50 miles up to now on my Cheviot 4s (wet moorland, muddy trails, firm frosty conditions and light snow) so I can't comment on durability so but so far they're performing well and are incredible value. The uppers seem more robust than the Cheviot 3 (which I got ~350 miles out of). The sole has the same firm rubber, aggressive tread pattern as the Cheviot 3 (perhaps slightly longer studs?), which works well for me in most autumn and winter conditions and like the Cheviot 3 may well outlive the uppers. Descending performance in wet conditions is on par with shoes 4 x the price of the Cheviot 4. In very sticky mud there can be a tendency for the studs not to clear as well as shoes with a wider spaced stud pattern. (Posted on 08/02/2019)

Spotted these when I bought some spikes recently and couldn't quite believe they would be any good for the low price and so didn't make a purchase. But I read some of the other reviews later and took a chance on them later - and I'm absolutely delighted. I own an expensive pair of Nike Lunar Trails but these MM trail shoes complement them nicely as they have a much more rugged grip. I wore them at a five-mile cross country race on the South Downs recently when most of the other runners were switching to spikes as there had been some rain - but I stuck to my guns and wore these and was very pleased with the grip in challenging conditions, some muddy chalky paths and some fast downhills on sodden grass. I've also since trained in them on a regular trail route and they felt good. Without doubt the best value running shoes I've ever bought. (Posted on 06/02/2019)

I use the trainer for OCR’s ( obstacle races ) so they are put through hell,
The trainer provides the best grip does not hold water and is very comfortable,
You need to buy a 1/2 size up but that is like most trainers.
I started with cheviot 1 and now on 4,
Thee are many brands out there but few offfer such value for money (Posted on 11/10/2018)

Evolution continues Review by Simon

The Cheviot evolution has now reached Mark 4. At first glance there is not much change from the Mark 3 with all the good bits kept and now better laces. Comfort, fit and grip remain as before...simply excellent at this price point. The Mark 3 shoe showed that the issue of splitting/tearing of the uppers had been laid to rest but there was still a tendency for the uppers to split from the midsole. Minor splits could be glued but occasional total failures were seen. Its too soon to say whether the Mark 4 shoe suffers the same problem but construction looks the same. Time will tell.
Overall though, for 30 quid, you really cannot complain as the shoe performs as well as shoes costing 3 or 4 times as much. (Posted on 04/05/2018)

I like these shoes. I got them to replace a previous pair of More Mile trail shoes, which had started falling apart after a few years of good service. I got on well with the new ones immediately. They help me to stay upright in very muddy conditions and slice through the mud confidently. As a result, I've got some good times since using them. Decent shoes, and you can't argue with the price. I purchased these in January and have used them several times without any issues but on Saturday 10th of March, I ran the NoEgo Headtorch race in Dalby Forest on what has to have been one of the muddiest trails I’ve ever ran on. Let’s just say I’m extremely impressed..! Everyone else was slipping all over and screaming but I sailed on passed them (whilst sniggering to myself) without slipping once. I managed a PB and gained so many places as those with the more expensive trail shoes couldn't cope on the muddy downhill. (Posted on 20/03/2018)
